Mentor - Mentee 2015 Program Kick Off!

Good fternoon, CAFPNA member:

I hope you have enjoyed this week so far, and happy Halloween. First, let me introduce myself. I am Yue Cui, from University of Georgia, together with Ren Yang, currently serving as student committee co-chairs of CAFPNA. We have been working closely with Zengxin (Scott) Li (career development committee chair) to resume the MM program in 2015-2016. Previous MM was very successful and beneficial for our community. And now I am writing to let you know that we are ready for launch!

The MM program gives an opportunity that allows mentors from multiple fields (academia, industry or government) to share their experience, knowledge, and provide some guidance to mentees (mainly graduate students, postdoc, and young professionals) to help them set up career objectives, explore opportunities, identify self-potentials, etc.. Through MM and along with other CAFPNA events, this will nourish not only association, also ourselves to further grow and establish our roots in food industry at US, and become successful in the long run.

A survey is thus generated to help us to understand your need and interests. Based on the results, we will match mentees with a mentor depending on their interest. And then the mentees and mentors can make the contact and build a good relationship in a frequent basis. Mentee can seek guidance and recommendations from their mentors, and mentors can refresh their knowledge and share their experience as well.

If you are interested being a mentor/mentee. Please fill out the survey linked below by Nov. 9th (Monday after the next week) .
